# TouchDesigner

Connect generated assets to an interactive visual project without assuming real-time generation.

## Connect generated assets to an interactive project

TouchDesigner's [Web Client DAT documentation](https://docs.derivative.ca/Web_Client_DAT) describes HTTP requests, headers and request data. This can form part of a bridge between an interactive project and a hosted generation API.

## Separate generation from playback

Define the event that requests a new asset, the description sent to the model and the state that identifies its intended use. Submit the generation once, save its task identifier and use the [task API](https://seedrouter.ai/docs/api/tasks) to retrieve the completed result.

The [API quickstart](https://seedrouter.ai/docs/api/quickstart) supplies a documented image example. Keep the key in private configuration and ensure shared project files do not expose it. Convert or load the completed asset into the media representation your TouchDesigner network expects.

## Design for asynchronous results

An interactive render loop should not submit a generation on every frame. Keep pending work, completed assets and the currently displayed asset separate. Decide whether a late result still applies to the current state, and retain a usable existing asset while waiting.

Test with recorded responses and local media before paying for repeated generation. Check duplicate triggers, stale results and missing files. Measure actual response time for your chosen model before designing an interaction that depends on it.

## Evaluate future music separately

Generating a complete piece, producing a seamless loop and creating music in real time are different requirements. A model returning an audio file would not by itself implement synchronized, low-latency interaction. SeedRouter's standalone music and speech APIs are planned rather than currently available.

TouchDesigner manages the visual network, timing and playback; SeedRouter supplies the documented model calls. The Web Client DAT reference was checked on October 12, 2026. This guide does not claim a newly tested SeedRouter component or real-time generation guarantee.
