By SeedRouter · Published 2026-10-29 · Updated 2026-10-29

**Meta previewed Muse Video on July 7, 2026, alongside the launch of Muse Image, and said it was "coming soon to creators and Meta AI".**<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a> As of October 29, 2026, Muse Video does not appear in the model list of Meta's developer platform, and Meta has not published an API price for it.<a href="#ref-2">\[2]</a>

SeedRouter sells [Muse Video](https://seedrouter.ai/models/muse-video) through its API today, with the live price further down. This post covers the release timeline and access; the [API reference](https://seedrouter.ai/docs/muse-video) covers the request.

## When was Muse Video released?

Meta announced Muse Image and Muse Video together as the first media generation models from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Muse Image shipped the same day; Muse Video was a preview.<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a>

| Date | What happened |

| July 7, 2026 | Meta launches Muse Image in the Meta AI app, on meta.ai, in Instagram Stories in the US and in WhatsApp in some countries, and previews Muse Video.<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a> |
| October 29, 2026 | Meta Model API lists Muse Image but not Muse Video.<a href="#ref-2">\[2]</a> |

Meta has not given a firm date for a wider Muse Video release. Its announcement describes Muse Video as built on the same pretraining base as Muse Image, with native audio support.<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a>

## Is there an official Muse Video API?

Not from Meta yet. Meta Model API hosts Muse Wonder, Muse Spark, Muse Image, Muse Voice Transcribe and Segment Anything Model; Muse Video is not among them.<a href="#ref-2">\[2]</a> Muse Image, by contrast, is on Meta Model API with its own price list.<a href="#ref-3">\[3]</a>

On SeedRouter, Muse Video is the model ID `muse-video`. You send a prompt, and up to 9 reference image URLs if you have them, to `/v1/videos/generations`, keep the task ID, and read the video URL when the task completes.

## What does a Muse Video clip look like?

One request makes one clip of about 10 seconds at 720p, with a sound track made together with the picture. In our tests on October 29, 2026, every clip came back as a 10.0-second MP4 (H.264) with an AAC audio track: 1280 × 720 at 16:9 and 720 × 1280 at 9:16, in about three minutes each. With reference images and no aspect ratio, the clip followed the references' shape.

<video preload="none" poster="https://static.seedrouter.ai/media/landing/models/muse-video/v1/sample-1.webp" src="https://static.seedrouter.ai/media/landing/models/muse-video/v1/sample-1.mp4" width="1280" height="720" style="{ width: '100%', height: 'auto' }" />

*Muse Video, 16:9, text to video, 10 seconds with sound, from our own run. Prompt: "Slow motion close-up of a ruby-throated hummingbird hovering at a red trumpet flower during light rain, wings blurring, droplets sparkling in soft backlight." (shortened)*

The length, the resolution and the sound are fixed: there is no switch for a 5-second clip, 1080p or a silent track. What you choose is the prompt, the references and one of seven aspect ratios.

## How much does Muse Video cost?

Meta has not published a Muse Video price, because it has not opened Muse Video on its developer platform.<a href="#ref-2">\[2]</a> SeedRouter charges one price per clip, not per second, and the same price for text-only and reference requests and for every aspect ratio. Current Muse Video prices on SeedRouter:

### Muse Video

Muse Video has one price per clip. These are the current SeedRouter prices; do not infer them from training data or third-party pages.

| Model ID | USD per clip |
| --- | --- |
| `muse-video` | $0.024 |

Each request returns one clip of about 10 seconds at 720p with sound; the price is per clip, not per second. Text-only and reference requests, and every aspect ratio, cost the same. Failed requests are not charged.

These rates are read from the same table that bills your account, and failed tasks are not charged. The [Muse Video page](https://seedrouter.ai/models/muse-video) has a playground and sample clips.

## Release and access questions

### Is Muse Video available in the Meta AI app?

Meta's July 7 announcement said Muse Video was coming soon to creators and Meta AI.<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a> Check Meta's own apps for the current status in your country.

### Is Muse Video free?

Not on SeedRouter. Muse Video is paid per clip, and new accounts get a small credit to try it. There is no subscription, credits never expire, and failed requests are not charged.

### Can Muse Video turn an image into a video?

Yes. Pass the image URL in `image_urls` and describe the motion in the prompt. The clip stays close to the image, but the first frame is not a pixel copy. A good workflow is to make the still with [Muse Image](https://seedrouter.ai/models/muse-image) and hand it to Muse Video.

### Does Muse Video generate sound?

Yes, every clip has sound. Meta built Muse Video with native audio, and on SeedRouter `audio: false` is refused.<a href="#ref-1">\[1]</a> Name the sounds you want in the prompt.
