# Higgsfield API pricing: per-model rates, launch discounts and a cheaper option for Seedance

By SeedRouter · Published 2026-10-05 · Updated 2026-10-05

Higgsfield API pricing is pay-per-generation: you top up a balance in dollars, each model has its own rate per second of video or per image, and there is no subscription or seat fee. That is a different product from the higgsfield.ai app, which sells monthly plans with credits. This guide reads the API price list for Seedance on October 5, 2026, explains the launch discounts behind most of the numbers, and compares the result with SeedRouter's rates for the same models.

SeedRouter is the cheaper option compared here, and it is our product. Higgsfield's API is the lower price on several Kling, Wan and MiniMax tiers, so this guide covers only the models where SeedRouter cost less on that date.

Third-party prices in this guide were checked on October 5, 2026.

## How does Higgsfield API pricing work?

Each successful generation is charged from a prepaid balance at the rate listed for that model and resolution. Requests that fail, time out or are flagged by moderation are not charged, and any reserved amount is refunded. Credits expire one year after they are added, and output files are kept for at least seven days, so copy results to your own storage.

Most rates on October 5, 2026 carried a launch discount. Higgsfield says new accounts get 15% off models on sale and can pick three models for discounts of up to 75%. For Seedance, its price list showed rates 30% below list price and marked 30% as the maximum discount for those models, so the figures below are the lowest Seedance price it offered.

## Is the Higgsfield API free?

No. The playground is free to try, but every API generation is billed. The launch offer adds $15 to your balance after you verify a business email and add a card, and that is the only free amount Higgsfield describes for the API. Every new SeedRouter account starts with a small free balance, listed on the [pricing page](https://seedrouter.ai/pricing), and SeedRouter credits never expire.

## What does the Higgsfield API cost for Seedance?

Both APIs bill Seedance per second of output. The table uses Higgsfield's text-to-video and image-to-video rates, which its price list gives at the lowest and highest resolution of each model, and SeedRouter's per-second prices for 16:9 video on its model pages.

| Model and resolution | Higgsfield API (discounted) | SeedRouter | Difference |
| -------------------- | --------------------------- | ---------- | ---------- |
| Seedance 2.5, 480p | $0.144/s (list $0.2057/s) | $0.117/s | −19% |
| Seedance 2.5, 1080p | $0.7961/s (list $1.1373/s) | $0.647/s | −19% |
| Seedance 2.0, 480p | $0.0985/s (list $0.1407/s) | $0.080/s | −19% |
| Seedance 2.0, 4K | $1.0887/s (list $1.5552/s) | $0.883/s | −19% |

A one-minute [Seedance 2.5](https://seedrouter.ai/models/seedance-2-5) video at 1080p comes to about $47.77 on the Higgsfield API at its discounted rate. On SeedRouter it costs about a fifth less, and the gap is the same at every resolution in the table. Higgsfield prices Seedance jobs with reference videos, video edits and extensions higher than text or image input, so price those separately on both sides. One exception runs the other way. If you spend every credit of an annual higgsfield.ai Ultra plan, Seedance 2.0 works out to roughly $0.15 per second at 720p, $0.30 at 1080p and $0.73 at 4K. That is cheaper than SeedRouter's Seedance 2.0 rates, so if you already pay for one and use it in full, keep that volume there.

## What does Nano Banana Pro cost on Higgsfield?

Nano Banana Pro is not on the Higgsfield API price list, so the only way to use it there is a higgsfield.ai plan, which charges 2 credits per image and 4 at 4K. On an annual Ultra plan ($99 a month for 3,000 credits) that works out to about $0.066 per image, or $0.132 at 4K, if you use every credit.

| Resolution | Higgsfield Ultra plan (annual) | SeedRouter | Difference |
| ---------- | ------------------------------ | ---------- | ---------- |
| 1K / 2K | about $0.066 | $0.03 | −55% |
| 4K | about $0.132 | $0.03 | −77% |

SeedRouter's standard [Nano Banana Pro](https://seedrouter.ai/models/nano-banana-pro) model ID charges one flat price per delivered image at any size, and you pay only for the images you generate.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Higgsfield have API access?

Yes. The Higgsfield API has a console for keys and usage, official Python and TypeScript SDKs, polling and webhooks. Requests authenticate server-side with a key ID and secret, and generation is asynchronous.

### How do I get a Higgsfield API key?

Create an account in the Higgsfield console and generate credentials from its dashboard. Keep the secret on your server; Higgsfield's documentation says not to use it in browser or mobile code.

### Is Higgsfield AI free?

The higgsfield.ai app has a Free tier for limited use, but credits come with paid plans: Starter at $19 a month, and Plus at $47 and Ultra at $99 a month billed annually. The API has no free tier beyond the $15 launch credit.

### Is the Higgsfield API down?

We cannot see its live status from this guide. Higgsfield lists Discord for integration questions and [support@higgsfield.ai](mailto:support@higgsfield.ai) for account and billing problems, and timed-out requests are marked failed and not charged. If you want a second Seedance API ready, SeedRouter runs Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 as tasks that you poll until they finish; see the [task docs](https://seedrouter.ai/docs/api/tasks).

### Is Higgsfield AI legit?

Higgsfield is an operating company with public pricing, terms and API documentation. Most complaints in public threads are about "unlimited" app plans that slow down or stop, which its own pricing page qualifies: unlimited models work only on higgsfield.ai and can be slowed at peak times. The API is billed per generation, so that issue does not apply to it.

## Choosing between Higgsfield API pricing and SeedRouter

The Higgsfield API is a strong choice for Kling, Wan and MiniMax, where its discounted rates were lower than SeedRouter's on October 5, 2026. For Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0, SeedRouter cost about 19% less at every resolution compared, and Nano Banana Pro cost less than half of what a fully used Ultra plan works out to. Run the same prompts on both, compare the totals, and keep each model where it costs least for you.
